In A Nutshell

The aim of this blog is to publicise the miracle of the Jewish people and instill pride in the hearts of fellow Jews throughout the world. This blog is here to tell story of the most magnificent people to ever have existed. Jews should know their story and be proud to tell it.

The miracle in short:

No people has a grander history than the Jewish people.

The Jews taught the world monotheism. Both Christianity and Islam are outgrowths of Judaism. I’m not proud of either of these religions, but something like 50% of the world’s population is either Christian or Muslim.

The Jewish peoples’ book, the Tanach (Bible), is the best selling and most read book of all time. For the past 3000 years it has mesmerised people throughout the world. No other work from 3000 years ago (or even 1000 years ago) compares to the popularity of the Bible. It is a beautiful text and still engages man till this very day. Other texts from 3000 years ago are archaic and irrelevant to modern man. The Bible’s many messages have remained relevant to man throughout the ages.

The Jewish people is the one of the oldest people in the world. A people that started with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob 4000 years ago. A people that descended to Egypt and eventually conquered the land of Israel. The name Israel appears in Egyptian sources from over 3000 years ago. The Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Persians, etc. have all vanished from the face of the earth. The Jew lives on.

The Jewish people has been persecuted like no another, yet has still survived. It was exiled from its homeland 2000 years ago. The Jewish people have been scattered throughout the globe, but they held on to their heritage. Every generation peoples have risen up to destroy this tiny nation, both physically and spiritually, but none have been successful.

No people has contributed to the advancement of mankind more than the Jew. 20% of Nobel Prize winners are Jewish. So many of the great thinkers throughout history have been Jewish. Maimonides, Einstein, Feynman, Freud, Kafka, Marx, Spinoza, Rothschild, Rashi, to name but a few. It’s a never-ending list. In the modern era it continues. The two biggest websites in the world were created and are still owned by Jews. Sergey Brin and Larry Page of Google. Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook. Other modern day stars include Michael Bloomberg, Ben Bernanke, Dominique Strauss Kahn, Sacha Baron Cohen, Roman Abramovitch, Michael Dell, Natalie Portman, Steven Spielberg, Bob Dylan. The list goes on…

The Jewish people has finally returned to its homeland after a 2000 year exile. Never has a nation returned after being exiled. In my humble opinion, the return of the Jewish people to Israel and Jerusalem is the single, most miraculous event to have occurred in the past 3000 years. A return the prophets prophesied about, a dream the Jewish people have been eternally longing for, has, in our day and age been fulfilled.

Israel is flourishing. The many wars that Israel has faced in its short, 64 year history hasn’t affected it. Israel has also come out unscathed from the recent economic turmoils and is thriving.

And all of this while constituting a mere 0.2% of the world’s population. That means 1 in 500 people is Jewish. 13.3 million people worldwide in a world with over 7 billion people. Had the Jewish people’s only claim to fame been that Steven Spielberg is Jewish, it would have been enough.
